In 1999, the New York Times, in association with CBS, conducted a study about trust.
They asked people, what percentage of people is trustworthy?
The response – 30%. People said that on an average, human beings are only 30% trustworthy.
However, the research had another question – what percentage of people in your circle, people that you know, is trustworthy?
The response – 70%
This demonstrates that people trust those who they know.
You might have the best product or service in the world. But if people don’t know you, they won’t trust you and will be slow in buying from you.
In order to build this trust, we need to make efforts and spend time building relationships.
Here are some things you can do to build relationship –
Show interest
Be genuine, don’t pretend
Be friendly and warm
Listen to people
Don’t be needy
