We all have been in a position where we’ve had to hire someone. Generally we look for two things in a person –
a. Skills – their knowledge, previous experiences, how well they are able to do the work, etc.
b. Attitude – whether they will fit in our company’s culture, do they have the right mindset, etc.
But what do we prioritize?
Should we – Hire for attitude and train for skills?
Or
Should we – Hire for skills and train for attitude?
Which feels more natural?
But which do we invariably end up doing?
Food for thought.
